The Girl on the Train

Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning, and every morning it stops at the same signal, from which she can see a couple having breakfast on their deck. She has given them names and a life, and she envies both.

Then she sees something from the window that lasts a few seconds, and the woman disappears. Rachel goes to the police, who have every reason not to believe her: she is an alcoholic, she blacks out, and she was in the area that night without remembering why.
