The Curious Kitten at the Chibineko Kitchen

In a remote seaside town outside Tokyo, Kotoko follows a seashell path towards a restaurant she has only heard rumours about, one that serves kagezen, the traditional meal offered in remembrance of the dead, and is said to bring a reunion with the person you have lost.

A gust of wind takes her hat, and the young man who runs after it looks so much like her recently dead brother that she stops breathing. He is Kai, the restaurant’s chef, and the tiny place he brings her to serves four customers over four chapters, each of them carrying somebody.
