By Richard Koch
Roughly eighty per cent of results come from twenty per cent of causes, a pattern first noticed by the economist Vilfredo Pareto in income data and since found almost everywhere it has been looked for.
Koch’s argument is that most people respond to this by working harder across the whole eighty per cent. The book is about doing the opposite: identifying the small share of effort, customers, products and hours that produce most of the value, and reallocating everything else.
