The sequel to Call Me by Your Name. It opens with Elio’s father, Samuel, travelling from Florence to Rome to visit his son, now a gifted classical pianist. On the train he meets a young woman named Miranda, and the encounter changes the course of his life.

From there the novel moves to Elio himself in Paris, and later to Oliver in New England, as all three work out what to do about a love that has not finished with any of them.
