Black Spring is a picturesque town in the Hudson Valley, haunted by the Black Rock Witch, a seventeenth-century woman whose eyes and mouth are sewn shut. She walks the streets and enters houses when she likes, and stands beside children’s beds for nights at a time. Everyone knows her eyes must never be opened.

The elders keep the town quarantined with high-tech surveillance and a phone app, so that outsiders never learn what lives there. Then a group of teenagers decides the whole arrangement is absurd and starts filming her.
